We will welcome Heather Berchem of Murtha Cullina LLP to speak at this Social Work SIG Meeting on October 18, 2017 from 9:00am-11:00am


To assist providers in understanding their obligations with respect to patient self determination and how to proactively manage the risks that may accompany caring for patients in a patient centered environment.

Topics to be covered:

  • Patient Rights to Self-Determination: What are your obligations?; Who is the proper decision-maker?
  • Managing Risks: Strategies for managing patient and family expectations and patient non-compliance/complaints;
  • Best practices for coordination with multiple providers/caregivers
  • Reporting and care transition when appropriate

**This program has been approved for Continuing Education Credit Hours by the National Association of Social Workers, CT and meets the continuing education criteria for CT Social Work Licensure renewal.  (2 hours of Social Work CEUs)
