Join us for all the needed updates for coding in one webinar! The class is suitable for home health & hospice. Be there to listen to practical advice and exercise your coding skills with Test Your Knowledge cases you will code, highlighting the changes. CMS has announced proposed changes to diabetes, hypoglycemia, non- Hodgkin’s lymphomas and other cancers, obesity, anal fistulas, some muscular skeletal codes, dehiscence of wound, A/C sepsis as examples of changes for 2025.

Objectives:

  • · Determine which codes now require greater specificity & updated coding instructions.
  • · Review updates & changes to coding guidelines for FY 2025 effective October 1, 2024.
  • · Discuss Test Your Knowledge cases to illustrate the new coding changes.

Presenter:

Joan L. Usher, BS, RHIA, HCS-D, ACE-H, ACE-HH, AHIMA-approved ICD-10-CM trainer, President of JLU Health Record Systems. Usher is a nationally recognized expert in the field of ICD-10-CM coding and health information management. Her career began at a visiting nurse association, and she has been consulting for more than 35 years. Usher was a certified OASIS specialist in the clinical realm for over nine years and is certified as Home Care Coding Specialist- Diagnosis since 2018. Usher has written several publications including, the How to Guide to Home Health Billing and ICD-10 Coding for Home Health. Joan is Past President of the Massachusetts Health Information Management Association and served as a Board of Directors from 2004-2011. She received both the Professional Achievement Award and the Distinguished Member Award from the Massachusetts Health Information Management Association. Joan is a former Board of Director of the Home Care Alliance of MA 2012-2018 and a current director of Hospice & Palliative Care Federation of MA 2006-present.
